If you’re bothered by or self conscious of spider or varicose veins on your legs, Dr. Roach can help reduce the appearance of these unsightly veins using Asclera ® injections.
Spider and varicose veins in the legs usually result from increased pressure in the veins, which leads to the build-up of blood. Typical causes include spending long periods of time sitting or standing, weight gain, hormonal changes, injuries, and genetics. Asclera ® injections are FDA approved specifically for varicose and spider vein treatment, and when administered by an experienced doctor like Dr. Roach, are an especially effective and non-invasive treatment option. The injections work by damaging the cells that line the inside walls of the affected blood vessels, causing the vessels to collapse. Eventually, new tissue will replace these blood vessels, and the appearance of any spider or varicose veins will be significantly reduced.
For the first two to three days following your Asclera ® varicose vein treatment, you should wear compression stockings or support hose all day, and Dr. Roach will also suggest that you walk daily. Though this method of varicose and spider vein removal requires minimal downtime, you should avoid hot baths, excess sun, and heavy exercise throughout those initial two to three days. After the first few days, you should wear the hose only during the daytime, and continue to do so for two to three weeks.
